Get ready to kick off the new year with a bang as Glenelg Beach hosts the 2024 Pelligra SA Open, the longest-running beach volleyball tournament in Australia. From Friday January 10th to Sunday the 12th, the sandy shores will be transformed into a battleground for some of the country's top athletes, featuring current Australian representatives, Olympians, commonwealth champions, rising stars, and seasoned veterans.

A Sporting Tradition Since the 1970s

The SA Open has been a staple in the Australian beach volleyball scene since the 1970s, drawing competitors and spectators alike. This year promises an exciting lineup of talent, making it an unmissable event for sports enthusiasts and beachgoers.

Tournament Format

The tournament spans three action-packed days with two divisions. Division 1 showcases the top 16 teams, while Division 2 comprises the rest of the registered competition. Friday kicks off with the qualification round, determining the final contenders for the top division. Saturday features pool play, crossovers, and quarterfinals, leading up to the grand Finals Day on Sunday.

Meet the Champions

Last year's SA Open saw South Australian representative Stefanie Weiler dominating the women's category, while D'Artganan Potts, who is a Developing Beach Volleyroo, claimed victory for the men. Witness the thrill as this year's competitors vie for the top spots and a share of the prize money.
