Rachel Orchard (Rourke) inducted into Oregon State University Hall of Fame
17 November 2023
Our PeopleVolleyball South Australia are extremely proud to congratulate Rachel Orchard (Rourke) on her induction into the Oregon State University Hall of Fame on Friday.
Rachel, referred to as an 'OSU legend' set a number of firsts for the Oregon State Volleyball Program during her 5-year college career from 2006-2010, including a program record of 36 kills in one match. Rachel was also named two-time All-American, Four-Time All-Pacific Region, and Four-Time All-Pac-10, and concluded her college career with 1,920 kills, ranking 12th in the Nation for average 'kills per set' at 4.44.
Rachel is without a doubt one of the most successful indoor volleyball players to ever come out of Australia, furthering her career post-college with a total of 10 professional seasons abroad in countries such as Italy, Poland, South Korea, and China, whilst also competing with the Australian National Team for a number of years.
Rachel retired from volleyball in 2020 after her final season in China with Beijing BAIC Motor Volleyball Club. You can still find Rachel on the volleyball scene as an Australian Women's National Team assistant coach when she is not spending time on her kombucha business, Gather Brewing, or with her wife and two daughters.
Congratulations on your OSU Hall of Fame induction, Rachel!
