2024 Mahindra Super League Finals Series Men's Team Insights
9 October 2024
PerformanceThis weekend, the 2024 Mahindra Super League Finals Series will be held at the Adelaide 36ers Arena.
After an intense and successful regular season, both our Women's and Men's Pelligra Adelaide Storm teams finished third on the ladder, and now have their eyes on the championship prize!
Our Men will play in Semi Final 2 on Saturday 12th, 2.00pm (approximately) VS QUEENSLAND PIRATES
We were lucky enough to hear from several players about their thoughts and feelings leading up to the exciting game!
Harrison Peacock, #7 (Captain)
The Storm Men are excited heading into this weekend,
"We know we have the squad and the ability to go one further than last year and we’re looking forward to seeing if we can do it in front of our home crowd. Queensland are a strong side and we had a close game during the regular season. It should be an exciting match but we go in confident that we have the tools to get the job done."
Harrison is confident that his team will bring their strengths this weekeend,
"We have a lot of offensive weapons throughout the squad and a huge amount of depth. One of the big challenges for us has been selections each week because there is so much competition for spots. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the offensive plays we’re going to bring this weekend."
Regan Fathers, #3
Regan echoes Harrison's confidence in the team, knowing they can bring their best,
"We have a deep roster of offensive weapons, so it’s key we execute our game plan and capitalize on every opportunity. Our focus is to approach the match aggressively and make the most of our squad depth."
"Queensland excels in serving and passing, so maintaining strong first contacts on our side will be critical. With their balanced offence, our blocking system needs to be solid from point one."
It's safe to say, the team will be going out there with trust in their talent and experience,
"Watch for players coming off the bench—our depth is a real asset. Charlie Disbury has been dominant at the net, while Ben Williamson’s been exceptional on defence and serve receive. Expect them to make an impact again,"
The Storm have one goal, and they can feel how close it is,
"We're so unbelievably keen, gold's within arms reach"
With full trust in his team, there are no doubts coming from Charlie,
"We’ve got our one hiccup game out for the season last week, so we’re coming out breathing fire this week"
Volleyball SA wish the best of luck to our Storm Men!
