Cameron Zajer and Allysha Sims Selected for Australian National Team

Performance Our People CompetitiveVolleyball South Australia is incredibly proud to congratulate two South Australian athletes, Cameron Zajer and Allysha Sims, on their selection in the Australian Women's National Team.
Cameron and Allysha are a part of a 14-strong squad representing Australia at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup, held in Manilla, Philippines from May 22nd - 29th. Australia has been selected to play in Pool A, alongside hosts Philippines, as well as Chinese Taipei, Iran and India.
Cameron is making her debut for the Senior National Team this tournament, after having an incredibly successful 12-months in both beach and indoor volleyball. Amongst the list of accomplishments is her time competing with the Adelaide Storm in the 2023 Scape Australian Volleyball Super Leauge, winning silver on the sand at the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games, and a recent gold at the 2024 U19 Asian Beach Volleyball Championships.
Allysha made her debut with the Senior National Team in 2022, which led her to playing her first professional season abroad in Germany for the 2022/2023 season. Allysha sustained a significant knee injury during her time is Germany, so is now returning back to the team after a 12-month hiatus spent rehabilitating from surgery.
The team are now on their way to Manilla, and will begin their tournament with the matches below:
Wed 22 May – Australia v Chinese Taipei
Thu 23 May – Australia v Philippines
Sat 25 May – Australia v India
Sun 26 May – Australia v Iran
